Since 2012，the number of domestic homestay policies has gradually increased. The development of China’s homestay policies has experienced four stages：local pilot，national encouragement and exploration，provincial active promotion，and national linkage. During the development of China’s homestaying policy in the past 10 years，it presents the characteristics of bottom-up，progressive，unbalanced and inadequate. The homestay policy has changed from a single department to a multi-department joint release，from guidance to detailed implementation rules，and from promoting the development of the homestay industry to promoting the integrated development of agriculture and homestay.
