In light of accomplished study and relevant data，this paper points out the major problems concerning the “transition from kindergarten to elementary school”. Then it analyzes the specific stipulation and impact of the 2017 policy of “continuously adhering to allowing access to the nearest school without examination，and combing the practice of demarcating coverage for individual school and the expansion of demarcating joint coverage for multiple schools. On the basis of the above-mentioned efforts，proposals are made on the feasibility of refining the policy governing “transition from kindergarten to elementary school”.
