As the urbanization process is gaining momentum，the size of the floating population increases，and among them the number of the party members is alsoon the rise，leading to new challenges in disciplining and providing service to them. Yet the level of social and economic development varies in different regions，so do the characteristics of those party members. As an international metropolis，Beijing has attracted a sizable floating population，in which the migrant party members amount to a large number. Based on the 2016 data of the dynamic monitoring from the National Health Commission on the floating population，we analyze the basic situation and characteristics of the migrant party member in the current period in Beijing，finding out that they are social elites among the floating population，with high educational level，high income and strong aspiration to a permanent residence in Beijing.
