Green development of western China is important to China’s green growth strategy. In order to grasp the green development of western area systemically，the Factor Analysis has been used to clarify the level of green development in western region. The results shows that the green development in the southwest is better than that in the northwest and the disproportion of green development among four aspects is evident. Therefore，some proposals about how to realize green development in western China based on the factors that are associated with green growth has also been proposed.
