The developed countries of Europe and America lead in the development of telemedicine. Factors such as support of policy，market-oriented operation and management，and integration with existing national health service system play an important role in promoting the development of telemedicine. At present，the lack of fiscal input，imperfect supervision system and ununified standards have restricted the development of telemedicine in China. This paper combs and compares the development path and status of telemedicine in the US，UK and Australia，in order to provide references for the development of telemedicine in China.
