Since the reform and opening-up policy，the social and economic structure of China has undergone tremendous changes，as well as the structure of supply and demand in China’s labor market，and self-employment has become a very common form of employment. Already large and still increasing number of high-quality laborers are being cultivated due to the continuous enrollment expansion of colleges and universities. The supply and demand mismatch in labor market makes it harder and harder for students to find a job. So，under the encouragement of national policies，more and more students are starting to choose self-employment which not only eases the employment pressure，but also brings new vitality into the market economy. However，there still exist many uncertainties in the development of self-employment of college students. To correctly guide and support them，we should completely understand the characteristics of self-employed students.
