This paper sums up and explains the development of the social security for in Henan Province in the past 40 years since the Reform and Opening，summarizes and sums up the main achievements made in protecting the material and spiritual needs of the elderly in Henan Province，reveals and analyses the difficulties and causes in improving the social security and services for the elderly in Henan Province. While on the basis of the above in-depth consideration，constructive opinions are put forward on the effective ways to improve the social security and service level of the whole people in Henan province.
