Socialism with Chinese characteristics has entered a new era；the catering industry is facing new major social contradictions and new historical missions. The catering industry，as the basic consumer and happy industry in the people’s livelihood in the national economy，has played an important role in the economic，social，people’s livelihood，and ecological development in the long-term process of building a socialist modernized nation. This report combines the operation status of China’s catering industry in 2017 and summarizes the new characteristics of the high-quality development of the catering industry in the new era. It also put forward the measures for the catering industry to open up a new path of high-quality development in the new era of consumer upgrading，digital economy，openness and inclusiveness，and green ecology.
