Since the start of “100 towns construction”in Sichuan Province，it has attained evident achievements. Based on the data of characteristic towns in Sichuan Province from 2015 to 2016，this paper describes and analyzes the distinctive characteristics of characteristic towns in Sichuan Province： rich and varied types of development；prominent characteristics of leading industries ；Strong population agglomeration；strongly brand awareness；driving rural development. However，with the gradual advancement of the construction of characteristic towns，Sichuan also faces some important issues and difficulties such as the need to further upgrade its infrastructure and public services，and the more serious shortage of factors. In order to promote the further construction of characteristic towns in Sichuan Province，this report considers that measures should be taken in four aspects： compaction of infrastructure facilities and improvement of supporting facilities，establishment and improvement of assessment mechanisms，market-oriented development and attracting talent and funds in a favorable environment for development.
