There are many ways to improve the scientific literacy level of the public and it is a very good attempt to build a popular science museum with local characteristics. From 2014 to 2016，seven science and technology museums have been completed in Tong Zhou District，Beijing，and two more are planned for 2017. As residents slowly change their traditional way of life and enhance their cognitive abilities by visiting exhibitions and experiencing scientific miracles. This article summarizes the effect of science popularization museum in Tong Zhou District combining the regional characteristics to enhance the popularization of science popularization experience，and analyzes the effect of science popularization museum with regional characteristics.
