Manufacturing industry is an important part of regional industry，and also a pillar of national economic development. This paper uses the deviation-share analysis method to calculate the added value data of Henan manufacturing industry in 2011-2016，and obtains the competitiveness component，the industrial structure component，the growth share component，the Department advantage index，and analyzes the internal problems of the manufacturing industry from two angles of competitiveness and growth advantage. The results show that：the manufacturing structure of Henan province is irrational，and there is a lack of dominant industries. This article puts forward policy suggestions：to formulate long-term industrial planning，to encourage the development of strategic industries，to improve the market economy system，to ensure the healthy development of the industry，to deepen the reform of the financial field，to solve the difficult problem of financing for small and medium-sized enterprises，to establish an exit mechanism，to reduce the waste of resources and to relieve the worries of the enterprises after the transformation of the enterprises.
