Nowadays the third round of urbanization in the world is being in progress. The main feature of the third round of urbanization is to strengthen the traffic and network connections between the big cities and the small and medium-sized cities，which helps improve the international competitiveness of big cities. The Pearl River Delta（PRD）area is traditionally a dense area of water network. Guangzhou is located in the hub of the Pearl River Delta，and has been the core of PRD since ancient times. In the new round of urbanization，Guangzhou has chosen the hub&net work as the strategic direction of urban space development. In the future，the city should make full use of “southern gate” of the motherland and the location advantages，strive to build a world-class airport，harbor and railway network，further strengthen the global hub of the portal and the allocation of resources ability. By the construction of network and hub，the region will be more balanced and more fully developed.
