Guangzhou’s economy grew steadily in 2017. GDP reached 2.15 trillion RMB with an increase of 7.0%. The service and the manufacturing industries were both hit by slowdowns. Foreign trade export growth accelerated，consumption growth remained stable，but the growth of investment slowed down. Looking ahead to 2018，the world economy will continue to improve，expected to increase about 3.5%. Prudent and neutral monetary policy and positive fiscal policy will continue in China. With comprehensively deepening reform and opening up，promoting high quality development，China’s economy is expected to maintain a steady growth，although still facing some great challenges and risks. Considering various factors，Guangzhou economy is expected to remain stable in 2018，forecasting a growth rate of 7.0% totally this year estimated by the Research Group’s model.
