With the transition of international economic and political patterns，the relations of U. S. -ASEAN have experienced twists and turns. In 2005，the United States and ASEAN upgraded their relations to partnership. In 2015，the relations have been upgraded again to strategic partnership. The bilateral economic relations constitute the foundationsof U. S. -ASEAN relations. After Donald Trump became the new president of the United Statesin 2017，the prospect of U. S. -ASEAN relations attracted lots of attentions. Therefore，this paper aims to investigate the development process，current status，characteristics and future tendency of U. S. -ASEAN economic relations.
