In recent years，the role of science and technology is becoming more and more import in the process of building a new and modern public cultural service system. The use of science and technology to boost public cultural services towards the development of wisdom and modernization has become the primary choice for the construction of modern public cultural service system in china. Firstly，this paper analyzes the function and influence of science and technology on public cultural service，and then，this paper makes a survey and analysis of the promotion of public cultural service by science and technology taking library and museums as example. The investigation found that science and technology play an important role in the construction of public cultural service digital resources，the enhancement of spreading capacity and the promotion of service efficiency. At last，the paper puts forward the specific ways of enhancing public cultural service capacity by science and technology to promote the high-end integrated development between science ＆technology and public cultural service in the information age.
