In 2011，the Society for Community Research and Action（SCRA）in US appointed a group of experts to define competencies for community psychology practiceand published a draft for review in 2012. Based on literature review，this paper explores scholars’ discussions and comments on the draft and contents of competencies for community psychology practice in the past five years since the draft has been published. We compare the draft with EuroPsy competencies for community psychology practice proposed by the European Professional Associations of Psychology，and the basic ability of social work proposed by the Council of Social Work Education. Meanwhile，we introduces two training models-participatory pedagogy and fieldwork study，to train community psychologists. Finally，the implications for community psychology’s development and training of community psychologists in China are discussed.
