The construction of the forest town in Guangdong province is a trend to adapt to the urban and rural extension of the national forest city，and as an important measure of rural urbanization to fill short board，that has different practices and characteristics from other parts of the country.Through the special investigation on the area such as Tan Town ，Zengcheng Distinct，Guangzhou City；Gaotan Town，Huidong County，Huizhou City； Meisha Street Office，Yantian Distinct，Shenzhen City； Mingcheng Town，Gaoming Distinct，Foshan City； Datian Town，Enping City，Jiangmen City，the research group finds： the construction of forest town in Guangdong province started early，and the policy documents such as construction plan，program，declaration review procedure and evaluation index are well prepared.Besides，the organization is strict and orderly with the implementation of high efficiency and the obvious effects.It has formed three types of the forest town.The first one formed a preliminary field division and work area of state forest farm，forest tourism and recuperate base，Lingnan forest township with characteristic villages superimposed.The second one formed street office on which city fringe forest tourism base and block forest habitat environment that have unified planning，construction and management.The third one formed “five-in-one” forest township that including the forest town，the forest park，the forest leisure resort，the forest villages and the rural forest.These three types provide references and experience for the construction of national forest towns.The next step will be to promote the construction of the forest town further.It is necessary to explore the ways and methods of constructing the forest town's that have no administrative significance，and to explore the diversity of forest town evaluation criteria to solve the problem of construction land in forest town.
