In order to deeply understand the public participation in the prevention and control of community security in Fengtai District，Fengtai District Comprehensive Management Office designed the “Questionnaire on Public Participation in Prevention and Control of Community Security of Fengtai District” which was randomly distributed to the public of different sexes，ages and educational levels in Fengtai District. Through the statistical analysis of the questionnaire using specialized software，it was found that the six factors including sex，age，educational level，occupation，household registration and living duration have different impacts on the prevention and control of civic participating in the community. This report proposes the following five suggestions：to establish a targeted civic engagement promotion system through the use of informatization technology to differentiate different types of communities，to change the government’s concept of “management” to “government”，to establish a multi-channel and effective participation mechanism，and to enhance the community feedback on civic participation behavior and etc.. The suggestions proposed in this report have some reference value on enhancing public participation in the prevention and control of community security.
