地位合法性是人们对现有分层结构、阶层间关系合理性的感知与判断。类似于其他底层群体,当代转型中国的农民工群体也已挣扎在一种貌似“合法化”的不平等地位体系中。本文以建筑装饰业农民工为例,力图揭示不平等地位关系合法化的原因机制。第一,建筑装饰业层层分包的运行体制和关系霸权的人事管理惯例,在现代建筑工地建构起传统尊卑亲疏等道德理念盛行的温床,有助于工人认同自身所处的不平等地位体系的合理性。第二,建筑装饰业的劳动过程在表面上按照公认的社会公正原则展开,使工人们更容易认可此劳动过程中形成与体现的地位秩序。第三,地位合法性获得了外部效力因素的支持。第四,建筑装饰业农民工在同其他群体的比较中感到自身处境的优越性,也有助于他们获得心理平衡。
<<Status legitimacy is that people perceive and believe the reasonability of existing hierarchy and the relationship between different hierarchies.Similar to other underclass,migrant workers in contemporary transition China are also struggling in a seemingly “legitimate” unequal status system. Taking the migrant workers in construction and decoration industry for example,this paper tries to reveal the antecedent mechanism which makes the unequal status legitimized. First,the subcontracting layers by layers and relationship hegemony personnel management practices in modern construction site build a hotbed for the traditional moral concept,which help workers accept the reasonability of the unequal hierarchy system. Second,the labor process is in accordance with accepted principles of social justice on the surface,which makes workers be more likely to recognize the status order reflected in this labor process.Third,the status legitimacy gains supports from external factors. Finally,the migrant workers in construction and decoration industry feel the superiority of their status situation in comparison with other groups,which also helps them get psychological balance.
