2016年是海洋公益服务飞速发展的一年。2016年是“十三五”的开局之年，这一年的工作与往后的海洋公益服务息息相关。2016年，海洋调查、海洋标准化、海洋信息化、海洋预报和海洋防灾减灾这五部分的工作都取得了不少成绩，呈现整体发展系统化、协调化，重点区域重点发展，国际合作日益密切，“走出去”效果显著等特点。但是仍存在海洋公益服务信息化程度不足、宣传效果有待提高等问题。
<<Marine public service has developed very fast in 2016，which as the beginning of “13th Five-Year Plan” was important to the next development of marine public service.In this year，all of oceanographic survey，marine information construction，marine standard metering service，marine forecasting service，preventing and reducing marine hazards got good grades，presented systematization and harmonization as a whole，key regional development，and the increasingly close and effective international cooperation.However，marine information construction is still insufficient；the publicity effect needs to be improved.
