<<Prof. Scott Rozelle,a professor from Stanford University,who gave a speech on China's rural education,aroused strong social repercussions and in-depth theoretical discussions. The main problems in rural education such as student dropout,the health condition of children,lack of early child care and the orientation of senior high school education are reviewed. The deep-seated problems faced by rural education,the value of educational reform and its goals are discussed. The orient education towards life and the real world and focus on the development of non-cognitive skills and personality. Through ways such as learning by doing,independent learning,and personalized learning,they aim to develop a “whole person” that can live in the world of tomorrow.
