The subjects of the study are general hospitals in prefecture-level cities（provincial capitals and separately listed cities were not included），which contains traditional Chinese medicine hospitals and affiliated general hospitals of medical schools. The passage analyzed the top 100，top 300 and top 500 in prefecture-level cities from the view of regional distribution，competitiveness indexes and equilibrium degree，etc. The outcome of the East China is better than other areas，and Jiangsu，Guangdong are better than other provinces. The top 100 of prefecture-level cities have maintained a good momentum of development in medical technology and allocation of resources，but the phenomenon of inequity in dominant medical resources distribution still exists.
