<<Under the perspective of media culture theory,Finnegans Wake could be considered as a metaphor for the media transformation. On the one hand,the novel emerges the metaphor relationship between media technology transformation and human historical evolution from tribulation to de-tribulation,re-tribulation,and return. On the other hand,it reveals the anti-environment function of literature,points out the significance of creating imagination,remediation function of media,and aesthetic self-disciplinary limit of literary innovation. Meanwhile,the novel reveals the inter-transformation between architype and cliché,develops the way of literary innovation. The media metaphor implicates the change of human perception and comprehension about art,which provides us a typical text to rethink literary termination theory.
