中亚一直被印度视为延伸的邻国。中亚对印度最大的意义体现在安全层面。印度对中亚的安全关切可以从地缘政治安全、非传统安全、能源与资源安全三个层面考察。为保障印度在中亚的安全，印度尽力扬长避短，获得安全利益最大化。但是印度的现实处境与其的期待之间有一定的落差。而印度在中亚的安全关切将会给印度与中亚关系带来一个新的发展路径与前景。
<<Central Asia has always been regarded by India as an extended neighbour.The greatest significance of Central Asia for India results from security.India's security concerns in Central Asia can be viewed from three levels：geopolitical security，non-traditional security，energy and resource security.To guarantee India's security in Central Asia，India has taken its full advantage and tried maximize its security benefits.But due to the reality，there is a certain degree of gap between the expectation and the reality.Anyway，India's security concerns in Central Asia will bring a new path and prospect for India's relation with Central Asia.
