The Belt and Road Initiative provides a historic opportunity for China to deepen its strategic partnership with Sri Lanka. China will continue to make friendly policy related to Sri Lanka a long-term strategic choice and will always consider Sri Lanka an important role in neighboring diplomacy. China is committed to deepen the strategic partnership between the two countries. Meanwhile，Sri Lanka is willing to take advantage of its location and play an active role in the Belt and Road Initiative. The top-level design and policy communication led by the high-level exchanges between leaders of both sides have promoted the cooperation between China and Sri Lanka under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. Sri Lanka has responded positively to the development strategies integration and the establishment of community with a shared future for mankind. With the deepening economic and trade cooperation between China and Sri Lanka，large-scale projects and the acceleration of free trade zones negotiations have become an important direction for the cooperation between the two countries. The multi-layered and wide-ranging cultural exchanges between China and Sri Lanka have enhanced people's understanding of the strategic partnership through domestic media in both countries. The cooperation between China and Sri Lanka is facing great opportunities while some real challenges need to be overcome.
