The developmental social work has great potentials to be an important social work practice theory both in China and on the international level.It has been elaborated as a model of theory as well as an approach to practice since the beginning of new millennium.This study tries to comprehensively review the development history of this theory，explore its theoretical features and practice strategies，and present a practical case explicitly informed by such a theory in China.The study aims to provide an option for the construction of China's social work theory and practice model.In addition，it is an invitation to further discussion and exploration on developmental social work together.
