2002年以来内蒙古已有38所本专科院校的热门专业招收少数民族预科生。各院校在一年的培养期内，从预科生管理、专业设置、课程教学、师资保障等方面做了一些探索和实践，保证了预科生顺利转本并完成学业，其就业状况良好。但各院校在预科生管理、专项资金投入、师资和教材建设等10个方面存在程度不一的问题，需要改进和加强。
<<38 colleges and universities in Inner Mongolia have enrolled minority preparatory students for some popular majors since 2002，which made some explorations and practice concerning student management，specialty layout，curriculum and instruction，and staff support，making sure that the preparatory students can turn into regular undergraduates，finish schooling smoothly and manage to get employed.However，problems in ten aspects still exist，concerning student management，specialized investment，staff and textbook development，etc.which need to be addressed.
