Bilingual education in Inner Mongolia has made tremendous strides and accumulated much valuable experience after years of development.However，there are some difficulties and problems regarding people's perception of bilingual education，school funding，Mongolian as the instructional language，the teaching faculty，the ethnic language environment，the inheritance of languages and culture of “three ethnic minorities” with small population，and the development of teaching resources.Thus in the future，the guidelines and principles of bilingual education should be further clarified，and feasible measures to cope with the problems mentioned above should be implemented so as to promote the sustainable and healthy development of bilingual education.
