《没有故乡的我，和我们》以故乡与异乡的对举阐释了历史创伤的代际传递问题。该文本以典型的空间意识聚焦于历史创伤的代际传递给历史的非亲历者带来的个人身份认同的焦虑，描述他们在心理与精神上无家可归的异乡人状态，探讨创伤记忆如何在历史的碎片中变得观念化、不及物化，并提请思考当历史的非亲历者主动斩断与过去的代际联系，与历史保持足够的距离来建构自身的认同时，记忆又何以可能。
