Along with the urban development，the land resources become increasingly stretched，and the urban underground space become more and more important. Hong Kong is a typical city with scarce land resources and a global pioneer in the construction of a compact city，and has rich experience in the development and utilization of underground space. At present，Hong Kong has launched a new round of underground space development planning and research，and there are some new strategy trends，which have important enlightenment for Chinese cities.
