So far，the issue of urbanization impetus still remains a controversial topic. The common research strategy of a large number of literature reviews is to explore this issue with the help of the analysis paradigm of efficiency optimization in mainstream economics. However，its conclusions can not completely and rationally explain many phenomena and problems of traditional urbanization in Sichuan，so that it is inevitably biased to guide the current practice of new urbanization. This essay establishes an analytical framework from the perspective of Marxist rationalism，which is dialectically unified by instrumental rationality and value rationality，analyzes the essence and causes of the problem of traditional urbanization in Sichuan and restores the dynamic mechanism of new urbanization based on value rationalization.
