Looking through the general tendency of tourism development in Sichuan Province，there are challenges and opportunities on the way of tourism development. Functions of “tourism+” change with each passing day，and tourism is transforming and upgrading. Meanwhile，poverty alleviation through tourism provides timely help，especially the tourism festivals held in 2017 in Sichuan. All the above will consolidate and promote tourism development of Sichuan. At the same time，affected by the earthquake in Jiuzhaigou on 8th Aug，2017，tourism in Sichuan will face greater challenges in 2017 even in the next one to two years. This paper analyzes tourism development situation in 2016 and the first half year of 2017，as well as the key factors which influence the tourism in 2017 deeply. Based on the analysis，this paper states that Sichuan tourism investment will increase continuously，and new tourism formats are going to appear. Meanwhile，this paper considers that the integration of tourism resources will accelerate，so will poverty alleviation through tourism. In short，Sichuan tourism in 2018 will still present a good tendency. On this basis，this paper puts forward corresponding countermeasures and advice.
