This report takes the junior high school students in Shanghai City as the research object.The overall general situations of their Internet usage are found as follows：There are both the high internet penetration rate and the high family networking rate.“Home” is their foremost sites for the internet surfing.Most of them began to contact the Internet in the elementary school stage.Holidays and spare time are their main Internet surfing time.Smartphones are the internet access equipment with the highest adoption rate.Some of them also surf in the Internet with smart TV or smart wearable devices.The upmost activities contents which the junior middle school students in Shanghai contact are “Listening to Music”，“Playing Games”，“Chatting”，“Searching for Materials” and “Watching Videos”.In the process of surfing the Internet，junior high school students in Shanghai face with potential risks in the overuse of network，online and offline social contact，privacy exposure，online consumptions，and other aspects at present.
