In order to build an ideal university，president Liu Shuqi，Wang Shijie and Wang Xinggong proposed their own ideas of running a school when the Grant Institution of the National Government decided to establish National Wuhan University. Liu Shuqi suggested that national university should be the center of cultural heritage of a country，also it should attach importance to science education. Wang Shijie proposed that transmitting profound knowledge and improving academic level was the main job of a university and its educational goal should be raising noble personality. While Wang Xinggong held that morality，knowledge and skill are the three educational tasks of a university，for which it should take the lead for the nation，explore profound theories and do research for social progress. And their ideas are still glittering today.
