As both wings of the civil aviation industry，the mutual development of transportation aviation and general aviation is not only important but also necessary. Compared with the fast development of transportation aviation，general aviation of China takes up only a small market share. On the basis of analyses of the world typical airparks，the paper proposes that analysis on comprehensive conditions and forward-looking planning are preconditions for the success of airparks and that airparks shall be defined and developed in such four dimensions as integrated planning，networked layout，featured development and proper size. On this basis，the paper analyses the basic concept and core elements of airparks and further argues that the planning and layout of an airpark shall be rooted on macro background，geographical conditions and human resources，namely，the choice of a proper site，the determination of development direction and the formation of capabilities. The paper also presents explorations into the construction of three airpark types based on industry，environment and activity，and the future trend of China’s airparks.
