Talking of sustainable development of airports，such two concepts as “smart” and “green” are the key to future civil aviation hubs. Starting with the concept of smart planet，this paper mainly analyses the features of “five smart-nesses” of a smart airport and further proposes that the ultimate goal of smart airports is to improve best experience of all aspects under the assistance of IT and that the smart airports can’t do without IT or coordination. In the last part，the paper，from the dimension of green development，argues that the goal of future airport construction is ecological airports that attach more importance to energy conservation，emissions reduction，noise control & management and cyclic resource utilization and presents the method for reducing airport noise.
