News translation is an activity that involves the display of translator’s subjective initiative in conveying information from the source language to the readers in the target language efficiently. From an eco-translatological perspective，the process of news translation is the news translator’s selective adaptation and adaptive selection in a specific news translational eco-environment. The news translator’s centeredness is manifest in the linguistic，cultural，communicative and other dimensions. Meanwhile，translators are under pressure of “survival of the fittest” rule which promotes them to optimize the translation strategies towards a quality news story of a highest degree of holistic adaptation and selection. Eventually，a pleasing news translation ecosystem will be established and preserved.
