More and more elderly people become internet users and form their own culture. This report describes the internet activities of the elderly，such as hardware and software usage，internet payment，internet participation，browsing habits and awareness of internet safety. The data in this report come from 8 cities and multiple internet platforms. The report demonstrates that both individual’s social status and attitude and cognitive tendency towards internet affect internet behavior. The elderly population have special characteristics of their internet understanding and internet behavior，which affect their internet activity capacity and awareness of internet risk. Cooperation among government，community，and households should work together to improve the elderly group’s internet capacity，and rely on internet to enhance the living standard of the elderly population.
