This paper compares the similarities and differences between Chinese and American college students in the cultivation of student journalists from five aspects：the main body，content，channel，audience and feedback.The report of the American college TV station is to look at the campus，local，domestic and foreign news from the perspective of the students，which can be used for reference for most of the Chinese universities.Overall，compared with American college TV stations，Chinese college TV stations' investment in the cultivation of student journalists is not enough.There are still some problems in the influence of students' works and the cultivation of media quality.Chinese college TV station can be improved in the student body，capital investment，functional shift and other aspects，so as to play the role of university TV station in the training of media talented people.
