For a long time，the academic study of the traumatic memory has focused on the field of psychology and culture.Study on the dimensions of the society and the media are fewer and not thorough.With the example of the first fully animated documentary“Waltz with Bashir”，this paper analyzes producing history traumatic memory in animated documentary，combined with animated symbol，vision，hearing and other elements.Besides，based on the concept of“trauma process”，this paper tries to think about the expression of collective memory in the image.The study found that the pursuit and present of traumatic memories involve different kinds of patterns of human subjective consciousness.Because of its rich creative freedom，animated documentary is the best form of visualization to build traumatic memory
