Fierce competition in the market，making more and more architectural decoration enterprises to take technological innovation and revolution as a basic business philosophy，they continue to strengthen the leading role of technical standards，and promote build a key mechanism，which helps to accelerate the development of technical innovation and technical standards. At present，lots of the architectural decoration enterprises have initially built a modern decoration enterprise technology innovation system，and are accelerating the modernization process of the innovation system itself. This paper studies the technological innovation in nearly 30 typical architectural decoration industries. It reveals that the technological innovation of the architectural decoration industry has experienced three different development paths：1）Innovation path-imitation innovation-independent innovation-scientific and technological innovation；2）R & D path-independent R&D-cooperative R & D-industry standards；3）product and construction path-green and energy conservation-intelligent-integrated. Meanwhile，it also reveals three distinct trends of technological innovation：1）technological innovation is increasingly inclined to be a rigorous organization process，large architectural decoration enterprises set up new departments of R&D and innovation，even to establish Designing and Research Institute，which aims to form a more rigorous technological innovation system；2）technological innovation is increasingly inclined to take the overall development of enterprises and enterprise management strategy as a leading role，and is more closely integrated with the overall objectives of enterprise development；3）single process innovation evolves to technological structure innovation，the content of innovation is constantly enriched，and the innovation system tends to be perfected and deepened.
