There are four stages of the study on the LiuYazi for nearly 60 years： the original stage，the development period，the expanding stage and the lucubrating period.The general situation and features of all stages will be summarized in this paper；Then the achievements of the study on Liu Yazi will be focused on seven aspects： the collection and collating of historical materials，Liu Yazi and the south club，literary achievements，political activities，academic and cultural activities，friendship，the contact between Liu Yazi and Mao Zedong，the complain in his poems；Finally the long term “six excessivenesses and six lacks ”questions about the study on Liu Yazi will be pointed out，and four suggestions about the further study on Liu Yazi will be proposed.
