The number of experimental studies on foreign public administration has been increasing. This article provides a systematic review of such experimental studies，using lab experiments，survey experiments，or field experiments that have been published in SSCI-indexed PA journals up to 2016. Specifically，these studies include descriptive and longitudinal analyses of the experimental methods，experimental designs，objects of the research，and the participants in the research. It is found that until now survey experiments have been the most popular experimental methods；researchers in public administration use a single factor design or between-subject design more often than other experimental designs；the research objects include the general public as well as professionals，while the general public and university students are the main participants in the experimental research. The article also discusses possibilities for future experimental public administration research in China.
