The urban management and social governance process in Beijing encountered many problems，posing new challenges to community workers who mainly undertake community management and community services. Based on the in-depth analysis of the competency of community workers，this paper adopts the construction method of competency model，and puts forward the competency model for community workers in the capital. According to the actual situation of community workers，this paper also analyzes the competency of ordinary community workers，community neighborhood committee，community Party committee，community service station and other personnel in detail.
