A hub and network city is central to the global city network as it attracts and allocates global resources and plays a vital role in the whole system. In order to realize its own identity and responsibility as a major national central city，Guangzhou aims to grow itself as a hub and network city，improve the ability to apply global resources，and stride forward for global city. Taking the perspective of Guangzhou as a hub and network city，the present study provides strategic suggestions for improving the city's ability in applying and allocating global resources.
