The peace issue of the Korean Peninsula has for long been a focus of attention among neighbouring countries.Differences in national interests and ideology have led to varied understandings of threat by stakeholders，thus intensifying the contestations at all levels，including the global，regional，and bilateral ones-contestations that have apparently resulted in continual turbulences in the Peninsula.Although China and South Korea have reached consensus in many aspects concerning the maintenance of peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula，they nevertheless remain poles apart in terms of the role of the DPRK and the US in particular security-related issues，amidst which the deployment of THAAD seriously infringes on China's security interests.As a result，it might in all probability reverse the positive trends in the Sino-ROK strategic cooperation partnership，further to exacerbate the security situation in the region.A prospect into the future reveals that a strengthening of the Sino-ROK strategic cooperation partnership may as well take a few measures as follows，namely to increase mutual political and strategic trust，to appropriately handle the negative impacts of the DPRK and the US on the Sino-ROK relations，and to increase the efforts from both sides in their cooperation on security with a detailed planning.
