In the new era of new urbanization，the focus of urban development changes from incremental expansion to the inventory enhancement.At the same time，the smart city development focuses more and more on human nature in micro level space，such as street and community scale.In this circumstance，smart community become an important content of smart city planning and construction，and plays a key role in urban refinement.From the overall situation of the country，the development of the smart community is still in the initial stage，and the characteristics of various types of communities vary from each other，while various technical strategies are supposed to be combined with different needs to promote the development of smart community to enhance community participation and governance.This paper discusses the characteristics of the smart community from several angles，and it also summarizes the future direction of smart community from the experiences of several research and practice cases of several different smart community projects.
