The total volume of online public opinions over China’s agriculture，rural Areas and farmers in 2016 grew significantly. With the trend of integration of different media，the public opinions related to agriculture，rural Areas and farmers are now also regularly reported in all forms of media，and the diversified channels of voices are full of positive energy. A series of major policy arrangements were put forward in succession and the measures taken by government agencies caught the focus of public opinions. Topics such as agricultural production and food security，migrant workers，development-oriented poverty alleviation，rural land tenure，etc. were continuously focused on in public opinions. Looking into 2017，agriculture and rural reform will continue to be the hot topic，food safety issues still need to be followed with taut nerves，high expectation is attached to poverty alleviation，migrant worker and left-behind rural population issues may turn into flash points，and rural land issues may sparkle heated discussion.
