From the spirit and practice level，according to the discussion of the connotation and function of cultural self-confidence，as well as the relation between cultural self-confidence and university spirit and its construction，it should put forward that the key to solve the current defects and problems of cultural construction in China’s universities is to adhere to the unity of ideal and reality，that is not only forward-looking but even more down-to-earth. What should be adhered to is attaching equal importance to both form and content，accumulating the humanities nourishment，cultivating the cultural soil and remodeling the ideal state.
