In 2016，under the background of severe and complicatedmacroenvironment and great downward pressure on economy，Taizhou city energetically promoted supply-side structural reform and implemented various reform measures. Therefore，economical operation was overall smooth，and growth of major economic indicators was placed in previous row of the whole province. In the first three quarters of 2016，Taizhou city’s GDP totaled 298.64 billion yuan with year-on-year growth of 9.5% and shared first place of whole province with Nantong and Suqian. Comprehensively considering the influence of investment，consumption，import and export，and external macroeconomic factors，Taizhou economic trends in 2017 are prospected as：total retail sales of consumer goods will increase about 11.0%，import and export will decrease about 6%，consumer price index will increase about 2%，and ex-factory price indices of industrial product will rally. Taizhou economic development in 2017 will proceed with the implementation of the spirit of 13^th Province Party Congress and 5^th City Party Congress. Guided by new developing concepts and driven by innovation，steady and fast economic growth will be promoted through industrial structure adjustment，expanding effective investment，and cultivating new momentum.
